Hummingbird Aviation Training Limited, a subsidiary company of Hummingbird Helicopter Services Limited is the only Helicopter Flight Training School in the english speaking Caribbean, having opened its doors for training in January 2003. Located at the old Piarco Airport (TTPP), HATL has air-conditioned classrooms with tv / vcr for ensuring that ground school is taught in a comfortable noise-free environment. The company utilizes instructors who are graduates of Helicopter Adventures Inc., the largest flight training facility in the U.S. The instructors have also received safety training including Helicopter Underwater Egress (HUET), Firefighting, Dangerous Goods, First Aid, Aviation Security Awareness, In-flight Smoke Drills and Open Sea Survival. Students enrolling for a full Commercial
Course are also given the above safety training at no additional
cost.
The facility operates seven (7) days a week between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00pm. However, the times can be tailored to suit the needs of the student if the normal hours are unsuitable. Students are given "one on one" training with their respective instructors and therefore work to a pace which suits their individual needs. |
