The MFA Advanced program was designed by Emergency Medical Planning International for use by persons employed in moderate to high risk jobs where Emergency Medical Services may be delayed, and for rescue teams where responders with advanced patient care skills are needed.

The course takes the Essential Skills of Patient Care to a higher level of assessment and care. It also moves from one person CPR to two person CPR and emergency response care.

The main components of the program are;

• Assessment based anatomy and physiology.
• Use of Oxygen.
• Advanced Primary Assessment Circle of Care.
• Complications in Primary Care.
• Initial Medical Care.
• Initial Trauma Care.

The participants in this program must complete the Medic First Aid Basic and Bloodborne Pathogens course as a prerequisite to participation.
